Event: General Data Protection Regulation Breakdown
The General Data Protection Regulation will affect every business that stores and processes data.
Tegen are hosting an event for local business owners to discuss the upcoming change in legislation.
Where? Langshott Manor Hotel in Surrey
When? Friday 2nd December, 12:30 – 14:30
By 25th May 2018, businesses will need to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where data breaches must be reported within 72 hours of detection to the local Supervisory Authority.
Organisations will be held accountable for any data breaches and loss of personal information and can be fined up to £16 million or 4% of global turnover if you fail to take adequate measures to protect data.
This means that organisations will need to adopt a proactive approach to security and obtain real-time visibility of their network in order to detect threats more quickly and having the right tools in place is vital.
LogRhythm will be discussing how their Security Intelligence platform has the all components and features to support you with the GDPR requirements. Their SIEM solution, with the help of alarms and reporting features, enables rapid detection of breaches before they do any damage and will help you stay within the 72 hour reporting time. Together with their comprehensive compliance automation tools, organisations can ensure that accurate reporting and accountability is maintained.
Tegen's new sister company, Intellect Security will also be speaking at the event. They are a specialist IT security business who offer a range of solutions to protect businesses from the increasing number of cyber threats affecting businesses on a daily basis. The GDPR legislation recommends data encryption as a system to safe guard your data and Intellect Security will be discussing this in more detail at our event.
